The Google 6006L3 Sneaker

Some of you might remember the design study of a GOOGLE Nike Sneaker that made its way through the web once (see pic 1 - by http://www.brassmonki.com) and which I have also posted in my Tumblr. Well with NIKEiD you now can personalaize sneakers which also gives you the chance of creating a GOOGLE 6006L3 Sneaker, which I did (see pics 2 and 3). Depending on the model you can place your “ID” on the sneaker, which I wanted to be “GOOGLE” of corse. But NIKEiD does not allow brand names here (see pic 4). The solution was simple: LEETSPEAK! So I just added two zeros insted of the OO - G00GLE - problem solved. And: leetspeak makes it even much c00ler! :D

What more can I say that: I’ve ordered it. You will see the result here soon!

UPDATE: Well, the solution did work in the first step but as it seems they don’t check the personal IDs by algorithms only. I’ve received an eMail from the NIKEiD-Support telling me, that my chosen PiD “G00GLE” is against their policies. ORRR! I’ve answered that I don’t no any brand which calls itself “G ZERO ZERO G L E” but if that’s against the policy, I would like to have “6006L3” as an alternative. So Nike is forcing me to become even more 1337!

UPDATE 2: “6006L3” was accepted and my sneaker is going to be produced now!

UPDATE 3: I’m glad I found the source of the design study (pic 1) that once made its way though the web - sadly without the source back then. It is made by Daniel Reese (http://www.brassmonki.com, Twitter @BM_Customs) a 22 years old designer from the UK who paints on these shoes! The biggest news: It is not only a study, you can actually order a lot of designs (not only GOOGLE) from his online-shop or even send him a sketch of your desired design.

I regret that I didn’t find his page before and this way I would really like to thank Daniel for his inspiration and his great work!

UPDATE 4: They have arrived! :) Here are some snapshots. I’ll post some better pics in the next days:
